The first phase of the work we do is to develop your in-depth financial plan. Our purpose in doing this is to fully understand your unique circumstances and goals, and determine your best pathway forward.
Development of your base financial plan is a valuable starting point. First, it can help determine the feasibility of your goals (i.e. can we retire?). In addition, the recommendations which stem from the process can often help you make changes which improve your overall outlook and put you on a better, more efficient, pathway forward.
Our analysis typically takes into consideration your cash flow patterns (how what you earn is allocated among major expense categories such as debt service, taxes, risk management, savings and lifestyle. The plan may address investments, risk (of premature death, disability, and long term care needs), taxation, and basic estate planning.
We believe that completing an in-depth plan with our team offers a number of advantages. First, it allows you the opportunity to gain experience in working with us. In addition, developing a base plan helps identify and clarify what actions and processes should be in place going forward to keep your plan and progress on track.
After the first phase of work is completed, we will be in a good position to discuss how to best align ongoing services with your needs and proceed to phase two, which focuses on “how to do it” and what help can be beneficial going forward.
